My name is Fatima . I am 18 years old. I am from Afghanistan. Since 2021 schools and universities are banned for Afghan girls and women but I refuse to

accept that.

It’s almost 4 years I am trying to find a way out to continue my education. One night, the internet was cut off across all of Afghanistan. My English test was scheduled for the next morning. I had waited months for it. Most people would have given up. I didn't. I found a way. I took the test and scored 130 out of 160, a university level score. That night taught me something. Giving up was never an option. 

While schools were closing around me, I was teaching English and Computer skills to others.  I was recognized as Best Teacher once. I self-taught web development. I worked with UNDP. Iread every book I could find, from The Alchemist to Stephen Hawking, because knowledge was the one thing no one could take from me.

In 2025, I applied for United World Colleges through the Afghan National Committee, one of the most competitive scholarships in the world. I reached Stage 2. I was 18, living in Afghanistan, with no Grade 11 or 12, and I still made it further than most.

That journey led me here. NOIC Academy in Canada offered me a scholarship worth CAD

$28,400, covering my full diploma, university application support and English preparation. 

My dream is to study Engineering or Computer Science at the University of Toronto. And one day come back to Herat, and open doors for other Afghan girls who are still waiting.

There is only one thing standing between me and this future. CAD $5,000. My parents are elderly. They don't work. My brother, a teacher, supports our entire family.

 In Afghanistan, raising CAD $5,000 is not just difficult. It is impossible.

My deadline to accept this offer is June 30, 2026.

I have done everything right. I have fought for every single opportunity with everything I have, in a country that tried to tell me my dreams didn't matter. A Canadian institution has already invested CAD $28,400 in my future. I just need this one final bridge.

If I cannot raise this amount by June 30th, I will have to return the offer letter to NOIC Academy and watch this opportunity disappear; an opportunity that took years of sacrifice, sleepless nights and relentless determination to reach. You have the power to change that.
