My name is Abby, and I am Chance’s wife! We very unexpectedly learned from Mercy in Rogers after Chance went through multiple seizures at home, on March 24th, Chance has a large tumor the size of a lime in his brain on his right frontal lobe. We’ve been told it’s a slow-growing glioma that’s been causing him weakness in his left leg, seizures, and so much more.
He was transferred to Mercy in Springfield, MO on March 25th for a few days where he experienced multiple more seizures. They then made the decision to transfer him to UAMS in Little Rock, AR for more experienced help. He underwent surgery on April 9th in the morning at UAMS, where they resected as much of the tumor as they could see. The surgery had caused barely any feeling in his left leg, drop foot, and so much more. He was discharged home 2 days after surgery as they pronounced him stable with medications, waiting upon what’s next with his road to recovery.
On Saturday, April 12th at home, he endured 5 more seizures. We immediately called 911, and he was taken to Mercy in Rogers, AR where they discovered a brain bleed and shift. He was airlifted back to UAMS in Little Rock through the night, into the ICU where we now know his whole left side is lost of use. We now wait on pathology results, a suitable medication treatment, PT, and so much more on his road to recovery.
We have experienced so, so, so much amazing prayer and support from our incredible family and friends in this what we call a nightmare. Chance is in good hands and spirits as he undergoes what’s next to get him back on his feet. “For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light.” - Micah 7:8
We love and thank all our people
