On Tuesday, our beloved Steven’s life was tragically cut short when he was murdered as he lay sleeping in his bed. Today, even in passing, he continues to give—his organs are being donated to save the lives of others, just as he gave so selflessly during his life.

Steven was more than a brother to me—he was the heart of our community. As one of the last of the local commercial fishermen, he carried on a tradition that connected us all. He was always there to lend a hand, rescue a stray animal, or simply brighten someone’s day with his kindness. To know him was to love him.

Our family is devastated, and while we are grateful for the outpouring of love, we are also facing the heavy burden of funeral expenses, medical bills, and cleaning up his home. We want to give Steven the farewell he deserves, but we cannot do it alone.
