Renovate for Rescue: Remodel Needed to Sustain a Cat Rescue

At Cats & Company, our mission is simple but urgent: to save as many lives as we can, one cat at a time. For years, our small town has been overwhelmed with stray, abandoned, injured, and orphaned cats, with few resources to support them. We've watched these innocent creatures suffer, and we couldn't stand by any longer.

That's why we, a dedicated group of volunteers, founded Cats & Company—a 501(c)(3) cat rescue focused on offering life-saving care for every cat that crosses our path. But we realized we needed to do more. We needed to create a sustainable way to not only rescue, but also enrich our community, which has been so supportive of our mission.

We’ve purchased a building in downtown Chillicothe, Ohio, and our dream is to transform it into a Catfé—a one-of-a-kind space where cats and people come together. This isn’t just a place to sip coffee and relax with a cat (though, trust us, that part is amazing). It’s a community hub that will help us continue saving lives.

But the heart of our space will be the rescue cats. In the main area, you’ll have the chance to relax with adoptable kittens and cats—each one saved from a difficult fate, waiting for their forever home. Every purchase made in our shop or from our Airbnb rentals will go directly towards funding veterinary care, low-cost spay/neuter clinics, and our area’s first official Trap/Neuter/Release (TNR) program.

We already have exciting plans to collaborate with local businesses, bring entertainment to the area, and host events that will keep our rescue sustainable. But to get there, we need your help.

The building needs renovations to make our vision a reality—and that’s where you come in. Your donation will help us turn this space into something truly special for the cats, the community, and everyone who walks through our doors. Every dollar you give will go towards creating a safe haven for animals in need and providing essential services to reduce the cat overpopulation crisis.
