My pup Castiel has always been my super spunky, lovable emotional support. Within these past two months, unfortunately that has been a reversed case and I’ve had to be his emotional support human. He has been through the wringer with a corneal ulcer that goes away, then another one pops up. We’ve been dealing with this since February and the newest corneal ulcer seems to be the most severe (developed through this past week and a half). The vet bills have been pretty costly and are racking up quickly, week over week with each follow up visit. The most recent appointment (March 27th, 2025), our vet referred us to a veterinarian optometrist to have his 3rd lid stitched up to assist with the healing process. the initial cost for a standard intake examination for him will be $235 before any treatment plans are actually drawn up to move forward. Unfortunately, we’re unsure about what the cost for the rest of his treatment, after the eyelid is sewn up (approximately $800-$1,000). We’re asking for some assistance with offsetting some of the vet expenses, as his eye condition will be perpetual due to having severe dry eyes prior to finding the ulcer. Any help is greatly appreciated through his healing journey, and I will update along the way with where we are in his treatment.
