In Loving Memory of Cassie: A Light Gone Too Soon

It is with the deepest sorrow and the heaviest of hearts that we share the devastating news of the passing of our beloved Cassie. She passed away peacefully this morning, November 12, 2025.

Cassie was a true light in this world—everyone's cheerleader—always radiating a positive outlook and lifting the spirits of everyone she met. Her warmth, laughter, and incredible optimism left a lasting impact on countless lives. The world feels dimmer without her infectious energy.

This unexpected loss has left her family, including her devoted partner Peter and their loving son, facing immense emotional and financial strain.

We set up this GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate the burden of her financial expenses, but now have shifted for funeral and memorial costs. We want to honor Cassie's life with a service that reflects the love and joy she brought to us all.
Any donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference as Peter and their son navigate this tragedy. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this post so we can reach others who loved Cassie.

Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this incredibly painful time.

Help Cassie Fight Lupus and Stage 4 Colon Cancer

Cassie Kozma is more than a coworker—she’s our work bestie, our cheerleader, and the soul of our team. In September, Cassie was admitted to the hospital for what seemed like a routine concern. But that visit marked the beginning of a journey no one could have foreseen.

Cassie was diagnosed with Lupus, an autoimmune disease that triggered a severe flare-up, causing a blood clot in her kidneys. Fluid built up in her lungs, and when it was sent to pathology, it revealed cancer markers. Just one week after her Lupus diagnosis, Cassie received the devastating news: stage 4 colon cancer.

While waiting for insurance approval for intensive chemotherapy, Cassie suffered a heart attack due to another clot—this time in her heart. Thankfully, doctors were able to place a stent and stabilize her.

This crisis comes just one year after her husband, Peter, suffered a major heart attack that required triple bypass surgery. Their family has been through unimaginable medical trauma in such a short time, and the emotional and financial toll has been overwhelming.

We’re raising funds to help cover:
  • Urgent medical expenses and treatments
  • Travel and recovery costs
  • Support for Cassie and Peter as they navigate this difficult chapter
  • Household bills

Cassie has always been the first to lift others up. Now it’s our turn to lift her. Every donation, share, and message of support means the world.
Let’s rally around Cassie and Peter and show them they’re not alone in this fight.

Donate. Share. Support.
