I'm a construction worker, and I received the devastating diagnosis of multiple myeloma in February, a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer that affects the plasma cells in the bone marrow. This life-altering news has come as a shock, and now I face a long and challenging journey that includes ongoing chemotherapy, medical treatments, changes in diet, hemodialysis, physiotherapy, and a stem cell transplant scheduled for later this fall.
