Donate to Carlos A. Evans Sr.'s Battle with ALS
Donation protected
My name is Carlos A. Evans Jr. the eldest son of Carlos A. Evans Sr. My dad has always been someone I have looked up to and admired. He has a big heart and enjoys bringing joy to others. He has also served much of his life as a protector of others. He was often facing difficult circumstances that involved threats of harm, violence, lethal weapons, and other uneasy situations. In many of these situations, situations many of us would not choose to be in, he faced with a desire to first de-escalate, but ultimately to neutralize the threat by any means necessary. As a security guard and leader, he served in these situations for friends, family, and professionally. He put his body and sometimes his survival on the line for those he loved and those he served professionally.
Now he finds himself in a different fight. A fight for his dignity and overall health. My father was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, which is a rare, fatal neurodegenerative disease that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. It has impacted every part of his life and is slowly affecting his ability to care for himself, something we all take immense pride in being able to do.
My ask is that you take a moment and imagine being unable to feed yourself, drive your car, earn money to pay your bills or dress independently. As you imagine... This has progressively become his reality.
Please consider donating to help us reach our fundraising goal. No contribution is too small to make a difference.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!
CAE Jr.
