I’m not looking for a handout. I’m asking for a little help while I fight to keep my life together.

I’m a Navy Veteran fighting colon cancer. Cancer has taken a lot from me, including my ability to work, my family and, now, my truck. I’m selling it because I have to. The medical bills, everyday expenses, the possibility of me losing my house and everything cancer brings with it don’t stop just because you’re trying to stay strong.

I started this fundraiser to help other Veterans and their families, and was been able to put more than $1,700 back into the hands of people who needed it. I’m proud of that. But now I’m the one who needs help.

The money raised will help keep me in my home and cover medical expenses I’m paying out of pocket. I’m not asking anyone to feel sorry for me. I’m asking for a little breathing room while I keep fighting.

I’ve spent a lot of my life helping others. Right now, I need someone to help me.
