Donate to Camper and Supplies for Altadena Family

Sometimes life gives us opportunities to show kindness in the face of tragedy. Rachel Wilson and I, after speaking with our kids have decided to donate our camper to a family in Altadena California who lost their home in the recent wildfires. This camper holds so many cherished memories for us. We bought it on a whim 6 years ago to see how we would like camping as a family, just to see if the kids would like it and it has been awesome and they beg to go as soon as the weather gets nice in the spring. It wasn’t new when we got it, but we didn’t care, we cleaned it up and made some changes so it fit for us and while it’s bittersweet to part with it, we know it’s going to a family who truly needs a fresh start.

We are raising money to do a couple of small repairs such as changing the water tank pump, re-sealing the roof, and purchasing a couple new tires so that it is road worthy to get from Iowa to California safely. We are also trying to provide them with a few months of camping site rent, and also some full propane tanks for cooking, heating and hot water. Because we cannot travel will many full tanks we are going to use part of this funding to fill the extra tanks we are going to take with us, in California. We are also seeking non monetary donations of canned foods, paper products, and men's, woman's, and children's clothing in any size for them as well that will be donated to their church. Any extra funds or supply donations we have left or they aren't able to store will be donated to their local church. We plan to fill the camper and our truck with these items within the next 10 days, have the repairs completed and deliver to California the week of Feb 2nd.
