Hello everyone, I'm Dave Shireman and I am starting this fundraiser for my son, Cale Shireman. Cale was riding his electric bike home from Cody's Steakhouse, where he is a server, on Sunday, December 8th, when he was hit by a car that failed to stop at a crosswalk. He was unable to stand after landing in the middle of the road and lay there until a police car came and blocked the traffic. He was taken by ambulance to Blake Hospital here in Bradenton, FL. He sustained a compression fracture to his T-11 disc.

Cale was admitted to the hospital and stayed until Thursday, December 12th. Cale has no medical insurance and may be off work for a few months. He is going to have to go to physical therapy to strengthen his back. Unfortunately, hospitals charge uninsured patients about three times more than insured ones due to insurance companies having set charges. His hospital stay, tests, and doctor's bills could very likely be over $100,000. He also will have no income for rent, food, physical therapy, doctor visits, and MRIs or X-rays. We all would greatly appreciate any amount anyone could contribute to help him get through this difficult time.

I also need to add that the day of his accident, he and his roommate had to move out of their apartment for it to be renovated from being flooded. So they are renting another place short term. We would like to thank you all for your consideration and donations. God bless you all!!
