Remembering the Fun, Spirited, Kind and Beautiful Natalie Walker
In September of 2025, Natalie Walker, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, passed away at the age of 39 due to cardiac arrest caused by complications from a long term, life threatening eating disorder.
Natalie lived her life with a fighting spirit; showing compassion, love, a sense of humor, and deep empathy for her family, friends, patients, and strangers. She prevailed as a positive and caring nurse, caregiver and mentor despite her personal challenges.
Natalie found comfort in walking; enjoying the companionship of her dog and often accompanied by a caring friend or family member. She loved to walk among woods and wildflowers, where she could find peace, strength and connection with the earth.
In her honor, a "Natalie’s Walk" will be constructed on the grounds of Green Meadow United Methodist Church in Alcoa, Tennessee - a walking trail encircling 7 acres of meadow and children’s play space and gardens. It will be a place where those who knew Natalie can remember her, and a place where all members of the community at large can walk among wildflowers and plantings; it will be a place where Natalie’s loving spirit and inspiring strength can be shared.
Our Goal
We are seeking to raise $50,000 to fund construction and all related ongoing expenses and maintenance for the walk and memorial area.
About the Project
“Natalie’s Walk” has been approved by the church and will include:
- Construction of the ¼ mile crushed gravel walking path
- Partial funds allocated for long-term maintenance to keep the space welcoming for all those who use the space for years to come
- Native wildflower plantings - Natalie’s favorite
- Landscaping, gardening spaces
- Benches for rest, reflection, and conversation
How to Contribute
All funds raised here will be distributed directly to Green Meadow United Methodist Church to complete the project and provide funds for future maintenance.
