Donate to Build a Safe Haven for Florida's Wildlife

Since 2020, Cicada Wildlife Station has proudly served Alachua County and surrounding areas, providing critical care to Florida’s injured, orphaned, and displaced wildlife. We are a home-based, family-run nonprofit supported by dedicated family members and friends who volunteer their time and energy to help us fulfill our mission.

Currently, we operate out of just one room in our home, and our growing capacity no longer allows us to meet the increasing demands of wildlife rehabilitation. With over 500 calls a month and nearly 400 successful releases to date, we urgently need to expand to better serve our community and the animals that depend on us.

Our Goal: Raise $40,000 to build a proper wildlife rehabilitation facility, including:

• A Quarantine Facility to safely house sick or injured animals and prevent cross-contamination.

• An Exam Room to assess and treat animals onsite.

• A Screened Recovery Porch to provide stable animals a secure, outdoor environment to recover before release.

• A Concrete Slab with essential features like a compartment sink, hose access, and drying rack for cleaning and care.

This new facility will allow us to provide safe, professional care and significantly increase our ability to rescue, rehabilitate, and release animals back into the wild.

Why This Matters

Florida’s wildlife faces increasing threats from habitat loss, vehicle collisions, and natural disasters like hurricanes. Cicada Wildlife Station has been a vital resource for rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned, displaced, and injured wild animals.

Operating out of one room in our home has allowed us to save hundreds of lives, but it’s no longer sustainable. Without a dedicated quarantine area and a secure outdoor area for stable animals, we’re limited in how many animals we can care for at one time. Building this facility is essential to meet the growing need for wildlife rehabilitation in our community.
