I think this newest batch of fosters melted! These lovely animals, a father and 2 daughters, belonged to a strange family who did not intend to take their pets when they moved. They told a friend of mine that if she didn't have a home for them, they would just be put out of the apartment when they packed the last of their things. There are not strong enough words to express my opinion on the subject. I thought, at least I could keep them in my studio until we found them a home. No way would Shuri allow them into the house. But 3 weeks ago, the weather was nice and even though we were crowded, they were safe and fed and on their way to a better home(s). Now, my studio is sweltering. But I can't bring them anywhere else. On Saturday, a very generous local contractor is planning to screen in the front patio of my studio, so I can open the glass door for some air flow. ( 2 rooms, 1 openable window at present.) Even just being able to lay out on shaded concrete has got to be better. Ultimately, it will be a large catio for rescues and a lovely place for me to work in warm weather.
For now, I have to acquire the materials to make this happen. Even though I was trying to collect left over construction materials at low cost, it wasn't enough. If you would like to be a part of my sporadic rescue/foster, please consider sending a small donation for this project. I'll make you a plaque!
