Help Brittany Fight for Sight and Stability After a Devastating Stroke

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my daughter Brittany — a courageous young woman whose life has been deeply impacted by mitochondrial disease and type 1 diabetes. This rare and relentless condition has already taken so much from her: her beloved mother, her brother, and her sister. And now, it’s threatening to take even more.

Recently, Brittany suffered a debilitating stroke caused by complications from her mitochondrial disease (MELAS). The stroke has left her partially blind and unable to drive, read, or return to the job she loved — working with children. Her world changed overnight.

Despite these overwhelming challenges, Brittany remains one of the most determined and resilient people I know. But she cannot face this alone.

Her husband, Josh, has been her rock — working tirelessly to keep their lives afloat. But with Brittany now requiring constant care and medical costs piling up, they are financially overwhelmed. Josh simply cannot carry this burden by himself.

We’re raising funds to help cover:

• Ongoing medical expenses and appointments with specialists

• Rehabilitation therapy and mobility support

• Daily living costs and accessibility modifications at home

• Loss of income from Brittany no longer being able to work
