Hello Friends, as some of you know, Brittany was admitted to the hospital last week for an unexpected surgery.
One year ago, in 2024, Brittany was scheduled for a simple surgery that resulted in a 63-day medical fiasco, ending with a close call and a stay in the ICU. As a result, Brittany was forced to miss 10 weeks of work.
Moving into 2025, because of the financial setback in the fall with missing work, and due to the nationwide inflation on everything, things were already tight for a single mom trying to make ends meet.
Over the last several months, Brittany was having severe abdominal pain biweekly that lasted up to 8 hours per occurrence. Even though she sought treatment from doctors, nothing was found. On October 27th, Brittany woke up with abdominal and back pain so intense she was stuck in the fetal position all day. After 24 hours with no relief, Brittany decided to get Zander off to school and head to the ER for what she was hoping would be some simple pain management.
After a CT scan and some blood work, the decision was made to admit Brittany for observation. On October 29th, a GI scope was performed, and it all looked great, but the pain still persisted. In a last-ditch effort to find the source of the pain, a laparotomy was scheduled for the morning of October 30th. The plan was to go in via three small incisions and look for the source of the pain. Upon entry into the abdominal cavity, the surgeon found the small intestines were severely twisted, and as a result, there was also a hernia. Given the complexity of the twisting, the surgeon was forced to make a 10-inch vertical incision down Brittany's entire abdomen to fix the structure and repair the hernia. Brittany has remained in the hospital for an additional 5 days for pain management and waiting on the GI tract and bowels to begin functioning again.
As Brittany is still in the hospital going on her 12th day, this will result in missing work for a minimum of 4 weeks.
With the already financial constraints, this guarantees that she will not be able to financially make ends meet without some sort of financial support and a few answered prayers.
This is where we come in. She would be grateful for any financial contributions or prayers for God to help her in this time of need.
For anyone interested in making a financial contribution but would rather not do it through this page, know that she also has Zelle and Venmo that you can make a donation to.
