PROJECT SUMMARY

This 15-minute EP Music Video features three new songs by the up-and-coming Abel Marton Nagy's COSMOS Band. They are a groundbreaking voice of the Viennese jazz-rock scene, fusing psychedelic, acoustic, and electronic influences.

Our film tells the captivating story of a romance unfolding in reverse: from heartbreak to the sweaty palms of first attraction.

WHO ARE WE?

Hello Kind Souls!

We are Sara and Ula, the founders of Wiśnia Wala Collective. We are a London-based, globally-minded platform created specifically for visual and performance-based artists to collaborate across disciplines spanning: theatre, film, movement, and sound.

The collective was created as a response to our basic and burning urge to create. The name can be translated from Polish, Hindi, and Urdu to Sour Cherry Dweller, which represents the bittersweet journey that connects artistic and immigrant life together.

As first and second-generation immigrants, we wanted to create a space for international artists to feel safe and recognized in their craft. Our focus is on showcasing the intersections between cultures, the beauty in connecting with one’s roots, even when we are far from home, and creating projects that span multiple countries.

THE MUSIC VIDEO

We are currently working in collaboration with a 10-member band, which brings together artists from all over Europe to create music that excites the young generation.

The first part of the film was already filmed in Vienna at the beginning of June and it was funded privately by the lead musician Abel Marton Nagy, who has been awarded a Hungarian Junior Prima Dij prize for his outstanding musical achievements.

We are fundraising for the second part of the film, filmed in London and featuring extremely talented actors. The two lovers share an electric connection, like magnets that attract and repel at each pole. With highly stylised tableau and syncopated movement simulating ‘the argument’, to an erotic bathtub filled with limes - each stage of romance unveils a new element of sublime (mis)-attraction.

WHAT ARE WE FUNDRAISING FOR?

To bring this ambitious project to life, we have to pay for studio hire, crew fees, filming permits, costumes, set pieces, makeup, props, transport, crew food on set, and equipment hire, including cameras, lights and grip equipment etc.

The first part of the shoot cost around 3000 euros, however, this part of the project will be much bigger than what we've done in Vienna. We already have a fully professional crew, who have agreed to commit to this project either for free or for a fraction of what they should be paid, which is why we are committed to providing them with an incredible looking video they will be able to use in their portfolios and showreels. This project is a testament to how much talent and resilience young artists have to create something meaningful and inspiring.

We want this video to look as good as possible, to faithfully represent the band, and the skill of each crew member who contributed to the project, to showcase the artistic concept behind each part of the video, and to properly tell the story of our Lovers.
