Stray By The Bay Cat Cafe: Lincoln's 1st Cat Cafe
Hi everyone! I'm Emily Cancelmo, the owner/founder of Stray By The Bay. Over the past two years, we've worked hard to help rescue cats in Lincoln and surrounding areas with the dream of opening Lincoln's first ever cat cafe. The time has come to make that dream into a reality, but not without YOUR help!
Stray By The Bay is hoping to open the purr-fect hangout spot that will bring together the aspects of your favorite coffeeshop alongside the irresistible company of local adoptable felines. We've partnered with several local shelters and rescues to give cats a safe, cage-free, and enriching environment while they wait for their fur-ever homes.
✨What to Expect✨
- Locally roasted coffee, teas, and fresh baked good available for purchase in the cafe area
- A beach theme throughout the cafe to bring shore vibes to the Midwest
- Adoptable cats and kittens from your favorite local rescues and shelters
- Multiple monthly events- cat yoga, painting, movie nights, and more
- Community Give Back- cat supply pantry, microchip/vaccine clinics, and educational events
Where your donations will go:
- Acquisition of a physical space
- Permits and licensing
- Cafe and cat room renovations
- Equipment and supplies
The majority of donations will go towards acquiring the physical location and renovations needed for the cafe. This will include constructing walls to separate the cafe and cat room spaces, as well as making sure both areas are safe and cozy for humans and cats alike. Donations will also help to cover the equipment needed for a fully functional coffee bar and small kitchen to provide guests with fresh drinks, baked goods, and other snacks.
Every donation-big or small-brings us one step closer to opening our doors and saving the lives of countless cats. Whether you're a long time supporter, coffee fan, cat enthusiast, or someone that just loves supporting the community, we'd be so grateful for your help and support.
Thank you for being part of this dream! We can't wait to welcome you to Lincoln's first cat cafe in 2026!
