Donate to Bring a Service Dog Home for Macy

Hello everyone, and welcome to our fundraising page! Our daughter’s name is Macy and she is 13 years old. For the last few months our family has been considering adding a service dog to our home to help with her anxiety and health problems. After doing quite a bit of research and speaking to several organizations, we decided to start a fundraiser to help us achieve this goal.
About:
Macy has a rare genetic mutation called KMT2E Syndrome; which encompasses all of the health issues Macy has been dealing with including a Brain Malformation, Epilepsy, Autism, Dyslexia, ADHD, Mild Intellectual Disability, Anxiety, and IBS-C. Last year, Social Security deemed her disabled.
Macy knows her brain doesn't work like it should and it hurts that she can't easily go out to places and travel like girls her age do. Having a service dog that could travel with her would give her a little piece of normalcy while dealing with more medical issues than any child should.
If you know Macy, then you know she LOVES dogs. We’ve had many discussions as a family about what adding a service dog would do to help Macy’s quality of life. Primarily helping her with her debilitating anxiety and stress due to so many medical and therapy appointments. And it would also relieve some of the pressure I deal with as the primary caregiver for a disabled child. She understands that a service dog doesn’t magically solve all of her health issues but that it’s another tool that can assist her with day to day life.
If you have continued reading this far, thank you!! We really appreciate you taking the time to learn about Macy and KMT2E Syndrome.
At this time, we are researching service dog organizations and have narrowed it down to a few. When we have decided on an organization, and selected a dog, we will update Macy’s page!
