My name is Travis, and I manage a sober living house dedicated to supporting men and women in recovery from addiction. Over time, the residents here have become my new family, and we've built a strong, supportive community together. For many of us, going home for the holidays isn't possible due to various personal circumstances, so i would love to create a meaningful celebrations right here.
This Thanksgiving, I want to provide a warm, home-cooked dinner for the men in my house and a few others from the recovery community who also can't make it home. It's more than just a meal—it's a chance to foster gratitude, connection, and hope during a time that can be especially challenging for those in recovery.
To make this possible, we're in desperate need of a few key items:
- A Dutch oven or roasting pan for preparing the main dishes.
- Disposable plates and silverware to serve everyone comfortably.
- Groceries such as turkey, stuffing, vegetables, potatoes, cranberries, and other Thanksgiving staples.
Any contributions, big or small, would mean the world to us and help create lasting memories of support and togetherness. If you're able to donate or contribute financially toward groceries, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for considering our request. Your generosity will brighten the holidays for those working hard on their recovery journey.
With gratitude,
Travis
