Hello. My name is Briana Bartenieff, and I am asking for funding to produce my show "Scammed Into Love, " a new, original musical following Lorelei, who runs a romance scam company. She doesn’t care who she hurts to get her money. She ends up falling in love with one of her scam victims. It is revealed that her lover is an online vigilante trying to take down Lorelei’s operation. This play asks, “How much must we sacrifice ourselves to survive in today's economy?”

The show opens on April 3rd at Theater for the New City. Unlike last year's show that was produced, this year we will have more added expenses. For example, we will have a four-piece band play at every performance for the three-week run. The set is more complicated this year as it requires a platform to be built, along with a stage-wide scrim to be set up. The set will also have some moving pieces this year as it takes place in more than one location. I am also hiring a stage manager this year to maintain the set and run the lighting/soundboard. I would just really love to be able to pay the people working on the show the money that they deserve.

I understand that times may be financially tough for people (as this is what the show is about), but truly every cent counts for this show to be put out. I believe this show will help people get through these hard times with, a little love, a little song, and a great story.
