Support Bre's Healing Journey

This is never something we ever imagined having to do, but if we've learned anything over the last two weeks it is the power and importance of community. We are so grateful for all the kind words we've received as we've navigated this time. We're just in need of a little more financial support than we would have expected.

On July 29th, Bre was admitted to the hospital with severe OHSS, a rare side effect of IVF treatment. During that time she had two minor procedures and a laprascopic exploratory surgery. Unfortunately, things took a sudden turn for the worse and Bre had to have an emergency repair for a stomach/bowel perforation, a result of all the other issues compounding on each other. Things were touch and go but Bre made it through, waking up with a breathing tube and NG tube. She currently remains in the hospital, recovering from major abdominal surgery and the new bowel/stomach repair. Things are still a bit uncertain but some more procedures will likely be necessary. During this time, they also discovered that they had indeed become pregnant through the IVF cycle, but the cycle ended in a chemical pregnancy and needed D&C due to Bre's health status, leaving them with angel baby #2. Steve has never left Bre's side through the entire experience but now we are facing severe financial burden. We are grateful for good medical insurance but are still racking up a good amount of medical bills totaling thousands. Both of us have now used up all PTO time with more time off still needing to be taken (at least a month), putting our ability to take care of our fur babies and bills at risk. Additionally, there has been a lot of costs associated with house/dog sitters, gas for Steve to go back and forth from the hospital, some food costs, and parking fees. Bre still hasn't been released from the hospital with several more issues still needing to be addressed. We already used a majority of our savings for out of pocket IVF costs so we have almost nothing left to cover costs at this time. We appreciate any help we can get to try and maintain our livelihood as we fight to heal and get our life back. All money will go towards medical bills and covering the bills we'll struggle with due to lost time/pay from work, and covering continued gas and parking costs.
