Donate to Bravo Students Facing Hardship

Dear Bravo Staff, Alumni, and Friends,

We write to you today with heavy hearts to share the story of two of our own Bravo students who have been deeply affected by recent ICE raids. Their father—the primary provider for their household—was detained and deported to El Salvador, where he has no nearby family or support system. His sudden removal has left their family facing immense emotional and financial hardship.

Despite these overwhelming circumstances, both students continue to embody resilience and strength. They are honors students who have made our Bravo community proud. One has recently been accepted to a top University of California campus, while the younger sibling remains in high school, doing their best to stay focused during this challenging time. Their mother has shared that school has been a crucial source of hope and stability for both of them.

At home, the older sibling has taken on many of the responsibilities their father once held—while juggling academics, college decisions, and the difficult question of whether to attend college or stay home to support the family. The younger sibling is struggling to adjust emotionally, experiencing sadness and stress that no child should have to carry.

Under the leadership of Dr. Lopez and with the support of Ms. Montes, UTLA, Mr. Villa, and several caring members of our school and extended community, we are organizing efforts to help the family. Now, we invite you—our staff, alumni, and friends—to join us in support.

We are collecting financial donations to provide gift cards for both students—one for college supplies, and the other for school necessities. Any additional funds will go directly to the family to help alleviate their financial burden.

If you are able to contribute, your generosity will remind this family that they are not alone and that our Bravo community stands with them in times of need.

Thank you for your compassion, unity, and unwavering support.

All funds will go directly to the family via Guisela P.
