My name is Rebecca Butler; my brother-in-law, Boyad Doss, is currently facing one of the most difficult battles of his life. He has been diagnosed with end-stage heart failure (ESHF), a condition where the heart can no longer pump blood well enough to meet the body’s needs. Right now, he is in the hospital in Little Rock at UAMS and expected to remain there for 3–4 weeks while doctors closely monitor him and determine the next steps for his treatment.
His situation is very serious. The medical team has already shared that he may need an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device), a mechanical pump that helps his weakened heart continue to function. Even with this device, the ultimate goal is a heart transplant, which is his best chance for survival. These are life-saving but also life-changing procedures, and the road ahead will be long and challenging.
During this time, my sister-in-law, Casey Doss, will be by his side, meaning she cannot work. As you can imagine, the financial strain of medical bills, loss of income, travel expenses, and day-to-day costs adds up quickly. They are both overwhelmed—not only with the uncertainty of his health but also with the stress of trying to make ends meet during this crisis.
I’m creating this fundraiser to help lift the financial burden off their shoulders so they can focus on what matters most: his recovery and survival. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference and will go directly toward supporting them through hospital stays, medical needs, and basic living expenses while they navigate this difficult journey.
If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this page and keeping them in your prayers. Your kindness, generosity, and support mean more than words can express!
