Bob's Healing Journey and Family Support

Hi everyone, this in particular was the last thing I wanted to do but with the unknown of how long Bob will be out of work it’s something We will have to try.

On Friday July 5th Bob was seen at a local NH hospital for severe abdominal pain. He was seen and told that they suspected He had an ulcer even though He was not having symptoms of an ulcer other than severe abdominal pain, and told him to go home and get Pepcid as well as maalox and to avoid certain foods. He did try the Maalox and Pepcid, He got worse. So by Saturday July 6th He requested to be taken back to the hospital but this time Central Vermont Medical Center, where they evaluated him and did a CT scan after bloodwork to quickly find He had Diverticulitis, for those of you that don’t know what that is in short diverticulitis is an inflammation or infection in one or more small pouches in the digestive tract. They managed his pain and sent him home with proper medication and told us to come back if anything got worse or He simply wasn’t feeling any better, by Sunday July 7th Bob was feeling very much so worse. He was in bed sweating and shivering as well. We quickly went back to the hospital where they had done an urgent CT scan once again and determined that his infection had perforated his intestinal tract and and He was rushed into emergency surgery late Sunday night. Which they ended up being right about his intestines being perforated and had been for some time, He had 3 feet of his intestines removed, as well as his appendix.

Bob has now been in the hospital for 6 days after surgery and will be in the hospital and out of work for an undetermined amount of time which as the primary income for his 3 girls and wife puts a financial strain on all of Us. He has a long road to recovery ahead of him. But so far He has been going strong and doing absolutely fantastic in his recovery. ❤️‍

*UPDATE* Bob was able to come home today to continue his recovery, However He will be out of work for 6-8 months at least as We were told today. This will help us pay bills, and stay afloat while Bob is out of work and I’m able to find a part time night shift job.
