My name is Michelle Horst.
My family and I are starting this GoFundMe campaign on behalf of my brother, Bob Horst.
On October 9th, at the age of 56, he suffered a massive heart attack.
(Special blessings to his friend Tom, who called 911.) Upon arrival at Franklin Square Hospital, he received immediate life-saving surgery. He is currently recovering well at home.
Only a few months prior, he lost his job. He was unable to perform his daily duties due to complications from neck surgery approximately 5 years ago.
Six titanium screws were installed in the base of his neck and spinal cord.
He began experiencing pain and discomfort 6 months ago, only to discover that 2 of the screws have broken, leaving him in constant pain. (See pics)
Unable to work, he was let go, resulting in losing his medical insurance and being unable to support himself or his family.
He and his wife, Melissa, have been experiencing a variety of hardships for the last 6-8 months.
He has been denied disability thus far but is currently working on reapplying. He was also denied financial assistance with the medical bills, which has made their existing hardships even more difficult.
To all of our family and friends, we ask that you please open your hearts and your wallets. Be as generous as you are able. Please help me raise funds for my big brother and his family. We appreciate your love, support, and monetary kindness. Please share!!
God bless you all!
