Donate to Black Onyx: Preserve Our Community

Greetings friends and allies of the kink community!

This is a PSA - a Call to Action - in support of the Black Onyx organization; whose founding members - Kristine and Malcom - have worked tirelessly over the past year creating more accepting, inviting, and educational munches and events for us to more safely explore this landscape.

On Friday, 9/13/24 (yes…Friday the 13th), the organization received notice from the city of Shoreline that they were to halt all events, pending an investigation into the proper licensing and permits needed for the organization to host the events. In addition, the space being used to host events came under scrutiny, and is no longer available for use. This is a blatant attack on the community, fueled by misconceptions as to the goals of the Black Onyx organization, and the values of the community at large.

We are seeking to raise $15,000 from our community in order to support Black Onyx in finding a designated facility to host events. The funds would be used to cover permitting, licensing, moving, leasing/rent fees.

We all know how hard it is to find accepting venues for all types of people and play. Black Onyx has strived to make this a reality for us all, and now it's time for us to give back in any way we can.
