Hi everyone,
We’re reaching out to our friends, family, and community for support during an incredibly difficult time. Bill has been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of squamous cell carcinoma of the bladder. Unfortunately, this type of cancer does not respond to chemotherapy or radiation, leaving surgery as the only treatment option.
Doctors have recommended a complete bladder removal, as the cancer has already reached through the bladder lining and into the outer wall. If it has breached beyond that, it could spread rapidly throughout his body. If we can act quickly, there’s hope—but the surgery is complex and requires a specialized surgical center.
We are currently working to get Bill treated in Seattle, where there is both excellent medical care and a strong family support system.
This journey will involve travel, lodging, time away from work, and significant medical expenses. Any amount—no matter how small—will make a tremendous difference and help ease the financial burden so Bill can focus on healing.
We are so deeply grateful for all the love, prayers, and encouragement that have already been sent our way. Your kindness means the world to us. We’ll continue to keep everyone updated as we move forward.
With heartfelt thanks,
Bill, Jackie, and Family
Update 11/8/2025
Thank you for your continued support. Bill is scheduled to see the Urology oncologist at Fred Hutchison in Seattle on December 8. Jackie called and got him on the cancellation list and if he gets a call he will fly out and Jackie will drive out. We appreciate all of you.
