Hello, my name is Sandra Wingate, and I want to share my journey with you—an experience that has challenged my strength and resilience in ways I never imagined.
In October of 2024, my world was turned upside down when my son, Bill Wingate, suffered a massive stroke. Prior to this life-altering event, Bill was a dedicated engineer and a loving single dad, navigating the complexities of life with determination and optimism. However, the stroke left him paralyzed and unable to walk, presenting us with unimaginable challenges that have deeply impacted our family.
During his recovery, Bill spent three weeks in the hospital followed by four weeks at a rehabilitation facility. The road to recovery is long and arduous, and upon his discharge, we quickly realized that his needs were far more extensive than we had anticipated. Bill requires round-the-clock care, and the financial burden of this has been staggering. Unfortunately, Bill did not have long term care insurance, which has compounded our struggles as we face bills exceeding $10,000 per month.
As an independent business owner, Bill has not been able to generate any income since the stroke. This has placed an immense strain on our family, as I have been doing all I can to support him and help manage the mounting expenses. Despite my efforts, it often feels like we are drowning under the weight of financial stress, emotional strain, and the uncertainty of the future.
I am reaching out to share our story in the hope of finding support and financial relief. I know that there are kind-hearted people out there who understand the importance of family and community support in times of crisis.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Your support means the world to us as we fight for Bill’s recovery and a better life moving forward.
