My name is Mee Moua. I am the sister of Ben (Bruce) Yang. I am heartbroken to report that shortly before midnight on Saturday, October 4th, my brother took his last breath on this earth. He was surrounded by family at the hospital, and the staff at University Fairview did an amazing job caring for Bruce and communicating updates with family. Any donations will go towards Ben's healthcare and funeral expenses.

Hello, my name is Jacob Grunewald, and I’m organizing this fundraiser on behalf of one of my dedicated employees, Ben Yang, and his family. Ben is a 40-year-old father, brother, friend, fellow Allied Universal coworker, and someone who has dedicated his life to serving others.

On September 30th, our friend and Allied Universal colleague, 40-year-old Ben Yang, suffered a serious medical emergency - a tear in his aortic artery stretching from his chest down to his legs.

Ben has dedicated his life to serving others, working for years in both the security field and as a personal care attendant. He even earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice to continue building a career around helping and protecting people.

Through unimaginable pain, Ben somehow found his way to Regions Hospital. He was quickly transferred to University Fairview Hospital, where specialists worked to save his life. By the time he arrived, he was barely responsive and fading as his organs began shutting down from lack of blood flow. The team at Fairview stabilized him, but Ben still remains on oxygen in an induced coma. His doctors are hopeful - but his fight is far from over.

Ben is a proud father to a 15-year-old son who needs him, and he has the love and support of many siblings standing by his side. Still, this unexpected and life-changing medical emergency will have a lasting impact on his health and his ability to work.
