In honour of Beku - with our heartfelt thanks
Donation protected
We want to take a moment to thank every single person who donated, shared, and supported our fundraiser for Beku. Together, you helped us raise just under £90,000 - something we never could have imagined.
With the heaviest of hearts, we also need to share that our beloved Beku passed away peacefully last week, surrounded by love. He fought his battle with such courage, honesty, dignity, and positivity, and we are beyond proud of him.
The funds so kindly donated will go towards making a difference in cancer research and in honouring Beku’s life and legacy. We hope you’ll feel, as we do, that this is a meaningful way for the love and generosity you’ve shown to continue making an impact, just as he did.
Your generosity and kindness throughout this time have carried us and shown us just how deeply Beku is loved. We are endlessly grateful, and we know he would be too.
With love and thanks,
Keturah, Susie & Nieve xxx
Beku’s Story:
Hey everyone,
I never thought I’d be in this position, but here we are. After exhausting every NHS treatment available for my cancer, I’ve now reached a point where my only remaining option is a private medical treatment - one that costs upwards of £20,000 a month.
For those who don’t know my story, I was diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma with Metastatic Spread in December 2022. What I thought was just a sports injury on my thigh turned out to be something far more serious. I started chemo in early 2023, followed by radiotherapy, then surgery in August to remove the sarcoma. But by then, the cancer had already spread to my lungs, meaning more chemo.
In July 2024, things took a serious turn - I was rushed to hospital with a brain bleed and had emergency surgery to remove the tumour. More chemo followed, but despite pushing through everything, my health has taken a real hit in the last few weeks. I’ve lost a lot of weight, and even breathing has become a struggle.
The hardest part? My body and mind still feel strong - like I should be out there living, not writing this.
But the reality is, I need help. And as much as I hate asking, this treatment is my best shot at staying here, staying me.
So here’s the deal: I’ve set up a GoFundMe because, honestly, I can’t do this alone. If you can support in any way - by donating, sharing, or just spreading the word - it would mean everything.
And if you’re going through something similar, please reach out. No one should have to navigate this alone.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for caring. Thank you for being here.
Stay safe. Stay seen. Stay blessed.
