Hi, my name is Heather and I run Beach Dog Rescue of Costa Maya - a rescue & sanctuary for Mexican street dogs.

We have an URGENT and deeply upsetting case.

Meet Oscar. He is a street dog from Merida, Yucatan.

According to neighbors where we found him, this sweet, homeless pup was mating with a female dog when a local man violently ripped the pair apart. We don't know why. This is incredibly dangerous and causes so much damage.

Part of Oscar's penis was ripped off. No one helped him.

By the time we heard about him and rushed to save him, he had been suffering alone on the street for over 15 days. The pain must have been horrific.

Once we got him to the hospital, the vets realized the extent of the damage. The tissue at the tip of his penis was necrotic and horribly infected.

There is no way to save his penis - it needs to be amputated. Too much time has passed for treatment.

But we can still save Oscar's life!

We have to act fast. He needs this surgery asap. He will need a minimum of 10 days in the hospital to recover.

Oscar is the sweetest boy and deserves to live a full and happy life. He just wants love and attention from the vet staff.
