Hi from the Dawson Family,

We set up FaroTheDog.com as an awareness campaign to the immense work Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland do in changing the life of a family who have an autistic child.

For us, our son Ciarán is pre-verbal with no awareness to danger. In the 6 months since Faro joined our family we have noticed such a difference in Ciarán and even ourselves where it is now a joy to go on walks, to go shopping and do family adventures that many would take for granted. Ciarán is more regulated, and to that, we are more relaxed as a family.

Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland receive no government funding and it takes over 2 years to train a dog like Faro to be fully Assistance Dogs International (ADI) certified and accredited. It costs €25,000 to train just 1 dog over the space of these 2 years.
