Hi my name is Kandiance Howard and my husband name is Tramail Howard. . This GoFundMe is for my husband and to help us in any way possible. The goal is to try to get a wheelchair accessible van and to be able to pay therapy to come in and also pay for supplies and get him other medical equipment that we need.

On Monday morning February 13th 2023 my husband was involved in a one car accident around 1:00 a.m. he was taken to Methodist South and was discharged at 7:30 a.m. that morning. He was talking just in pain and couldn't apply pressure to his right leg. I had to call our son from Northwest Community College in Senatobia Mississippi to come to the hospital to help me get him in the car. Once we arrived home he slid out the car on the ground on his own. He could not stand he laid on the ground for about 3 hours before I got an air mattress and his brother came and our son brought him in the house. He did have cuts and bruises from the accident. On February the 14th 2023 I brought breakfast so he could eat and it took 20 minutes just for him to sit on the side of the bed with crutches. Once done he couldn't get back in bed, and he went to the floor and said my leg is not right. The ambulance arrived, and once we got to Baptist and they did the same test as Methodist South he had a fractured right finger and pelvis broken in three spots. No hospitals in the area had any beds available. He was transferred to Jackson Mississippi to UMMC on February 17th 2023. AFTER GETTING THERE THEY KEPT POSTPONING HIS SURGERY. ABOUT 5 DAYS LATER HE FINALLY HAD SURGERY. THEY CALLED EVERY HOUR TO LET ME KNOW HOW IT WAS GOING. THE LAST CALLED I RECEIVED WAS AT 5:03 P.M. AND SHE SAID EVERYTHING WENT GREAT. WE'RE ABOUT TO GO TO RECOVERY. AROUND 7:13 P.M. HIS MOM AND I WAS WAITING IN HIS ROOM. A nurse came in and said that they were about to clean his room I told her I was waiting on my husband and his mom said she was waiting on her son. The nurse left out and came back in and told us that he was in ICU. No one called my phone to tell me that. Once getting to the waiting area for ICU. 5 minutes later two doctors come out. They tell his mom and I, that when they were turning him from his stomach back on his back. He had a blood clot to travel to the y shape part of his lungs. He went into cardiac arrest. They lost them three times. My husband was dead for 30 minutes. They gave him a shot to dissolve the blood clot but it shattered and went in both lungs. He was given a 50-50 chance to make it through the night. I had to sign a paper for them to put a port in his neck to vacuum suction the clot. If they didn't succeed he wasn't going to make it. But God! He made it through the night. His kidneys had shut down. He was struggling. When you believe in trust in God. Anything is possible. He was on a lot of machines, even a ventilator and was given 18 pints of blood. Because he didn't have blood and oxygen supply to the brain. He suffered anoxic brain injury. They said he would not be any more good / he was vegetative state. A doctor told me I should consider putting him away. I couldn't believe he said that, I told him to get out. I cried, my husband has a g-tube, trachea, and still suffer from anoxic brain injury. He also has a bed sore that he received from a rehabilitation center in Memphis when he was there. They have good therapy there but he wasn't being taken care of by the nurses /CNA properly. February of 2025 will be 2 years that my husband have had this accident. It will be a year and 6 months we still have been taking care of the bed sore. When he came home in May of 2023. My husband couldn't do anything or feel anything. My husband cannot walk, talk or do anything for himself. It brings me joy that he can slowly move his head. he will jerk his left leg when you touch his toes, move his mouth sometimes when you talk to him. These are things that he couldn't do. We need help with certain medical expenses, purchasing a wheelchair accessible van, so I can transport him myself back and forth to doctor's appointment, supplies and other equipment to help work with him due to no therapy, paying a nurse/sitter. My family has been through a lot and it's more to this story, that we have been through. We are standing on Faith. I have seizures but I stand by my husband and he stood by me. If I had a seizure in my sleep he would watch me all night, knowing he had to work the next day. I'm going to take care of him. I thank his mom and my family for helping me with him when I need it. Our 2 sons are my rock when everyone is at home. To look at him everyday and to be able to hold his hand and he looking at me warms my heart. I love my husband.
