On May 20th, she had a medical emergency and was airlifted from Lake Charles to Lafayette, La, with an aortic disection in two places. One tear was almost to her kidney. Emergency surgery was performed, and the surgeon told her she was lucky to be alive. Brenda spent the next four weeks in the ICU. It was touch and go for a while. She finally recovered enough that she was released from the hospital and sent to a rehab facility where she spent the next 3 weeks. She is home now, but doctors say she has a long and hard recovery ahead of her. So, with all of this being said, the bills kept coming and, with her unable to work, are behind. If you know my sister, being behind is very stressful on her. I thought maybe this could help relieve some of the stress by raising money to help her.
