I am living in a one room travel trailer in lower Alabama because I couldn't afford to live in my house in Maine over the winter. (it may be taken for taxes).

I have been looking for jobs since I got down here, a month ago, but since getting cancer, I don't have a speaking voice, making it really difficult to get hired. So far, I can't even get a job at Publix bagging groceries or returning shopping carts.

My husband passed away last summer, and I have no other family to help. (I'm in my 70s).

I do have lots of applications in lots of different businesses, and am really hopeful about one in an assisted living facility, but there are two other applicants in the running, and they have speaking voices. At least I did get called in for a second interview, so I am hopeful. It will be a lot of hours and hard work, but I am up for it.

My bank account is about to be completely drained, and all of my auto pays will start bouncing, so I am pretty desperate. I have never taken welfare, and don't even know where to start. Plus, I don't want to try. I really want a job, and to earn enough to live on.
