My name is Melody Black, and I have been a lifelong friend of Ashley. I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of Ashley and her family.

We all know Ashley loves with her whole heart and is a genuinely kindhearted soul. This unexpected medical emergency was far from what anyone could possibly imagine.

At this time, she is being transferred from Norfolk Heart Hospital to Duke University Hospital to hopefully undergo a heart transplant as she is currently in the CICU with a temporary pacemaker, an impella heart pump, and an ECMO machine (life support) to keep her heart at rest until she gets approved for the transplant surgery once she arrives at Duke. She will remain there for at least a month or two following surgery. Ashley is a hard worker and will be unable to work for several months following her transplant.

We would appreciate any and all help towards her medical bills, household bills, needs for her children, Luke and Kennzie.
