Help Me Recover After a Serious Car Accident

Hi everyone,

My name is Ashley Boyster, and I’m reaching out for support after a terrifying car accident that turned my world upside down—literally. I was in a rollover accident and had to be cut out of the car with the jaws of life after hanging upside down for over 20 minutes. I thank God every second for saving my life.

I’m now dealing with multiple injuries:

    •    Fractured ribs

    •    Fractured sternum 

    •    Possibly a broken elbow (too swollen to know yet)

    •    Severe swelling and bruising on my thigh from the seatbelt

    •    A pulled back muscle making it hard to walk or move

    •    Bruises all over my body

I’m unable to work for at least the rest of this week, likely longer. Walking is painful, and driving is out of the question right now—not only because of my injuries, but also because I no longer have a car. While I do have full coverage insurance, my vehicle was still under a loan, and based on past experience, it’s likely there won’t be any money left over for a new one after the payoff.

To make matters more difficult, I don’t have short-term disability through my job, which means I currently have no income. I also can’t legally drive without glasses, which were lost in the wreck and need to be replaced before I can return to work even when I’m physically able.

My heart breaks even more because my daughter, Myiah, blames herself. I was on my way back from dropping off medicine she forgot to take that morning when the accident happened. This wasn’t her fault—but as a mom, it hurts to see her carry that weight.
