This is really hard for me to write, but I’m putting my pride aside and reaching out because my family needs help.
In January, my world came crashing down. My son—my sweet, strong, beautiful boy—tried to take his own life. That pain… it shattered something in me that I didn’t know could break. That same day, while I was at the hospital admitting him, I got fired from my job in healthcare data. In an instant, I lost the foundation I had worked so hard to build.
My son needed 24/7 care. My husband, who lives with epilepsy and a traumatic brain injury, also needs constant support. And with a toddler in our arms and hope in our hearts, I made the decision to turn my passion—baking—into my full-time job. I’ve been running my small business, baking custom desserts, while applying for jobs, managing doctor’s appointments, fighting with insurance companies, and trying to hold it all together.
But the weight of it all has been crushing.
Both of my children needed surgery this year. We’ve fallen behind on bills. And yesterday, I suffered a stroke.
I’m writing this from a hospital bed, trying to stay calm, trying not to let fear take over. But the truth is—I’m terrified. What happens if I don’t recover fully? What happens to my babies if I’m not here to fight for them?
That’s why I’m asking for help. I’m asking not just for me—but for my family.
