On January 23, 2024, our world was turned upside down when my daughter Ashley was diagnosed with Stage 3 Cervical Cancer. As any parent can imagine, hearing such news is a nightmare. But what followed was an even more grueling and heartbreaking journey, one that no mother or family could have imagined or have to endure.
From the very start, Ashley fought with everything she had. She faced severe DVT blood clots, electrolyte deficiencies, chronic anemia, and a relentless series of treatments: chemotherapy, immunotherapy, internal and external radiation, and even a thrombectomy. In the midst of all this, her kidneys began to fail, and she needed emergency nephrostomy bags placed in her back. Despite every obstacle, every setback, and every physical toll on her body, Ashley never gave up. She pushed through the pain, fighting harder than I’ve ever seen anyone fight.
However, on March 28, 2024, after a stage 4 diagnosis put her in the hospital for two long months, we received the heart-wrenching news that Ashley’s cancer had advanced. She made the incredibly difficult decision to leave the hospital and come home, wanting to spend her remaining time surrounded by her family and the love of her children.
Ashley is only 36 years old. She has two children — one just turned 16, and the other is 17. Their father passed away 11 years ago, and Ashley has been raising them with the help of many caring family members since. They are facing the unimaginable pain of losing their mother too at such critical ages in their lives.
As a family, we are struggling with the emotional and financial burden of this devastating situation. Medical expenses have piled up, and we need help to cover the costs associated with Ashley’s care, her final days, and supporting her children through this difficult time.
We are reaching out to you, our family and friends, for any support you can offer — whether it be financial contributions, prayers, or simply sharing this campaign. Every little bit helps, and we are deeply grateful for your generosity. Together, we can help give Ashley the peace and comfort she deserves in her final moments and ensure her children are cared for as they face this life-altering loss.
