Hi, my name is Erin , and I’m creating this fundraiser for my sister, Ashlei, a 33-year-old mother of two who was recently diagnosed with intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma — a rare and aggressive form of bile duct cancer.

This diagnosis came out of nowhere. Ashlei had been feeling mostly fine — no pain, no obvious symptoms. She only found out something was wrong after a routine checkup revealed her period hadn’t returned and doctors ordered imaging. What they found was devastating: a large, inoperable tumor deep inside her liver. After more testing and scans, she was diagnosed with stage 4 intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma — a form of liver cancer with no cure, but treatment options to buy time and fight back.

She starts intensive chemotherapy and immunotherapy this week — a combination of Gemcitabine, Cisplatin, and Infimzi (Durvalumab), which is the most promising first-line treatment available. She’ll be going through 8 cycles over the next several months, with countless labs, scans, and appointments. While we’re hopeful, the reality is: this will be a brutal road, physically, emotionally, and financially.

Ashlei lives in a weekly motel with her two young children — a 7-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son. Even before this diagnosis, she was doing everything she could to make ends meet, often barely saving enough to give her kids a simple treat or outing. Now, with the added weight of fighting cancer, the challenges have only grown.

She’s a strong and loving mom — the kind who sings silly songs at bedtime, who kisses every scraped knee, and who quietly puts everyone else first. All she wants is a little more time, not just to fight, but to live — to take her kids to the park without worrying about gas money, to make memories while she still can.

This fundraiser is about buying her that time. Funds will help cover:

• Treatment-related travel and medical bills not fully covered by insurance

• Childcare and daily needs while she’s in treatment

• A safer, more stable place to stay

• Special experiences and outings with her children

• Future access to second-line therapies or clinical trials if needed
