Hi everyone!

My name is Ashanti, and I am in my third year of teaching as an alternative licensure teacher in Pitt County. For those of you that do not know, alternative licensure teachers are teachers with bachelor's degrees outside of education fields and have to get their license while teaching. I have taken all the classes necessary to get my license and just need to take two more tests. While this has been an amazing opportunity, I have to pay out of pocket for everything, including $300 for edTPA.

Over the summer, I was required to take two classes. My assumption was both were paid for as I put in all payment information and never heard back about anything. As a fellow ECU grad, I have always known them to email when your payment did not go through, and they will not let you continue the class. Well, I finished the class with an A but was told a few months later that I owed over $600 for this class and that it wasn't paid for.

With summer slowly approaching, I cannot afford to drop an additional $600 knowing I won't get paid for two months. This is blocking me from being able to 1) reapply to ECU for graduate school but more than that, 2) is preventing me from moving forward in this program.

While I recognize times are hard, I am asking anyone that can spare anything to please help push me to my goal so that I can push forward with my career and future.
