Help Support Long Beach Animal Care Services
Hi everyone! My name is Anthony, and I’m a proud Long Beach resident and volunteer with Long Beach Animal Care Services (LBACS). Over the past few months, I’ve had the incredible privilege of working alongside some of the most caring, compassionate people who dedicate their time to helping animals in need.
Every visit to the shelter reminds me how much love, hope, and community spirit exists right here in our city. From shy kittens finding their confidence to energetic dogs wagging their tails in excitement when someone stops to play each moment at LBACS shows what compassion in action really looks like.
LBACS is located at 7700 E. Spring Street, Long Beach, CA 90815, right near the entrance to El Dorado Park. They serve not just Long Beach, but also our neighboring communities of Cerritos, Seal Beach, Los Alamitos, and Signal Hill. Their mission is simple but powerful:
“We ensure ‘Compassion Saves’ by supporting the people and animals of our community through outreach, education, guidance, and support services. We protect shelter animals by creating an environment of care through enrichment and innovative programs.”
That message “Compassion Saves” is what truly inspired me to get involved.
LBACS provides so many opportunities for people to make a difference. Whether it’s adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating, every act of kindness helps save lives. The shelter staff and volunteers work tirelessly to reunite lost pets with their families, care for animals in need of medical attention, and help each one find a loving forever home.
I’ve also learned that shelters often face real challenges especially during the summer months when more animals come through their doors than ever. But even when the kennels are full, LBACS continues to go above and beyond to ensure every animal gets the care and attention they deserve. Thanks to their commitment, hundreds of pets have found homes and second chances.
Both of my own dogs were adopted from shelters, and I can’t imagine life without them. They’ve brought me endless joy, love, and companionship. That’s why I want to give back to help more animals experience that same happiness.
This year, I’m launching a fundraiser to support LBACS and their lifesaving mission. All proceeds will go directly to the shelter to help provide food, medical care, enrichment toys, and safe housing for the animals waiting for their forever homes.
If you love animals as much as I do, please consider donating, no amount is too small. Every dollar makes a difference and helps the shelter continue to provide compassionate care to our furry friends. My goal is to reach our fundraising target by November 1, 2025, and I’d be so grateful for your support.
Please share this with your friends, family, and fellow animal lovers, and if you can, stop by the shelter to meet some of the amazing pets waiting to be adopted. Who knows you might just find your new best friend!
Together, we can help ensure that compassion truly saves. ❤️
