Help Anna Fight Through Sepsis and Support Her Loving Wife and Family.
My name is Carolyn, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my incredible sister, Anna — a woman who has spent her entire adult life proving that strength, love, and sheer will can overcome the impossible.
For over 30 years, Anna has been battling multiple sclerosis. She’s no stranger to hospitals, setbacks, or being told the odds are against her. When with the daily challenges of MS, she has never let anything stop her from helping others. If anyone can beat this, it’s Anna — because she’s done it before.
Now she’s facing the toughest fight of her life. A week ago 11/16/25 severe sepsis put her in the ICU on life support. The infection has attacked her body relentlessly: her kidneys have failed and she’s on dialysis, she may lose all of her fingers, and there’s a strong chance her right leg will need to be amputated because there is no pulse past her knee. Just yesterday the doctors gave her a 10% chance of survival. But true to form, Anna is already defying the odds. Overnight she came off blood pressure medications completely and is down to only 30% ventilator support. Her survival odds are now closer to 50/50, and we are clinging to every bit of hope.
Anna’s heart is bigger than any obstacle she’s ever faced. For the last two years she has raised her two teenage nieces, giving them the stable, loving home they needed. Six months ago she welcomed her two-year-old great-nephew into the family as well. Her wife Julie — in her 60s and employed at Boeing — is now caring for a toddler, two teenagers, and her critically ill wife. Julie has no choice but to step away from work to hold this family together, and that means lost income at the worst possible time.
This GoFundMe is to ease the crushing financial pressure so Julie can stay by Anna’s side and keep the kids fed, safe, and cared for. Every dollar will help with daily living expenses, uncovered medical costs, and whatever comes next on Anna’s long road to recovery.
If you’ve ever met Anna, you know she would be the first person to drop everything to help you — no charge, no questions, just because it’s the right thing to do. Now it’s our turn to show up for her.
Please donate whatever you can, and please share this campaign far and wide. Let’s remind Anna — and the doctors — that she’s not fighting alone.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Updates on Anna’s progress will be posted here as we get them.
With hope and gratitude,
Carolyn
On behalf of Anna, Julie, and our entire family
