**Sweet stray Anabelle update-complicated spay and emergency hospitalization, any donation appreciated if you can—ANY amount helps** Sometimes when we take on a homeless animal it is straightforward—we get them to the vet, get them a bath or two, and they find a wonderful home to love on them forever. Yesterday morning I thought this is where we were with sweet Anabelle—what a turn the day can take.

I am sitting in my car, no sleep, in tears as I write that I dropped Miss Anabelle for her spay at 7am yesterday in Orange County. By 4:00pm I learned that she suffered excessive bleeding and that she lost a lot blood, consistent with her level of tick infestation. She needed to be admitted to a 24-hour overnight hospital to have her blood pressure monitored, IV fluids, antibiotics and other meds to help coagulate her blood. I took her immediately and did not leave her until 10pm.

It simply has never been an option to leave her in that freezing cold alley where someone abandoned her, to take her to an LA shelter where she would die, or to say no to what she needed to live. Every single one of them resides inside my heart, I treat them as a member of my own family, and they all deserve care and love.

And guess what…I just got the call (Friday 4/11 10am)…she is A ROCKSTAR. Not only did she make it through the night, she will make a full recovery—platelet counts are within normal range, coagulating beautifully, blood pressure slightly high, but we like that compared to low.

She is the happiest, most grateful, loving girl in the world. I have so many more glow up pictures but I couldn’t add them here due to space. Through it all she has been an absolute grateful, tail-wagging joy of a girl. She is now back home in boarding, adored and treated as the angel princess is. Whomever adopts this girl is the luckiest!

So, I am officially having to fundraise for this miracle lady, which I know we can do. By the grace of God, an incredible rescue, Wishbone, has stepped in to cover her spay surgery, so please support this rescue with donations as they are helping so many, just like Anabelle.

Her overnight care, antibiotics, pills to support her blood and her pain meds has come to a total of $2,104.49 (two invoices attached, one for the original $1247.20 + remainder $857.29), as well as $630 in boarding fees which I have covered personally; she is not the only pup I am helping.

If you are in the position to donate toward her care, or if you know an animal lover or anyone who could help us, I would be indebted beyond measure. And it would help us get more just like her off the street.

It is my belief that animals are our great teachers, and I have personally witnessed countless miracles for their being in our lives. When they have been discarded, defeated and need extra support—we can let them know we will be there.
