Our sister Amanda was in a very serious bicycle accident on Tuesday 11/4/25. She had just bought a new helmet and tire pump so that she could go for a bike ride. She started off in her neighborhood and ended up going down a steep hill. When she went to hit the brakes, they malfunctioned. She hit a concrete median and catapulted into a metal street sign. 2 women witnessed the accident and called 911. They stayed with her on the road until the ambulance arrived. She was rushed to the hospital almost an hour into the city since they were the only hospital nearby with a trauma unit. Once at the hospital, she was scanned and it was discovered that she had broken her right collarbone and scapula as well as a rib. Her left leg (tibia) was broken in several places. She was taken into surgery and her leg was pinned. She will have another surgery tomorrow for her shoulder breaks. They may have to do another surgery later to remove any pin in her shoulder. Amanda does not have health insurance and made too much driving for Door Dash to qualify for Medicaid. She will not be able to work until after rehab. She also has a cleaning job that she does that she will not be able to do for a while. She will need help financially to pay her bills and her car payment and her medical bills. There will be at least 2 surgeries to pay for plus therapy. Anything that you can contribute would be so appreciated. We also ask that you continue to pray for Amanda during this hard time.
