Hello everyone, my name is Nicole Layou, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support.

Three years ago, my sister-in-law Amanda discovered a troubling lump on the side of her breast. On her 31st birthday—September 11, 2022—she received the devastating diagnosis of triple-negative breast cancer, one of the most aggressive and difficult-to-treat forms of the disease.

Amanda faced her diagnosis with extraordinary courage. She underwent intensive chemotherapy and radiation, and on April 10, 2024, she rang the bell to celebrate being declared cancer-free—a moment of triumph and hope for all of us.

But just months later, during a routine follow-up in September 2024, Amanda’s worst fears were realized. The cancer had returned with alarming speed and severity. Now classified as stage 4, it has spread to multiple areas of her body, including her spine. Lesions pressing against her spinal cord and nerves left her with only one option: a high-risk, invasive back surgery to prevent permanent paralysis.

Amanda is currently recovering in a rehabilitation facility, bravely enduring the physical and emotional toll of this journey. Her new oncologist has recommended additional rounds of chemotherapy, including the “Red Devil”—a notoriously potent and grueling treatment.

As Amanda battles for her life, she is unable to work, and the financial burden of ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, and treatment is overwhelming. We are humbly asking for help to ease this burden and allow Amanda to focus on healing.
