Donate to ALS patients through Suke Strong

Here's the backstory.

Joan Suchar was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend diagnosed in 2011 with a death sentence known as ALS - Lou Gehrig's disease.

What is ALS? ALS gradually paralyzes people because the brain is no longer able to communicate with the muscles of the body. Over time, as the muscles break down, ALS patients will lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, swallow, and eventually breathe. 4 out of 5 ALS patients die within 2-5 years.

Joan lived for six years, and our family learned firsthand the challenges of living with and dying from ALS. Many of the end-of-life services, like home and auto modifications, medical devices, and communication devices, are not covered by insurance, making it a costly way to die.

Joan always chose joy instead of sorrow as she lived out her final years, and she demanded that her family continue the work of raising money for ALS patients dealing with those financial burdens. Each fall, our family hosts a golf tournament in St. Louis to raise money and remember Joan, and this year's event is on Saturday, September 28th at Bogey Hills Country Club in St. Peters, MO.

Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 in a week, and every dollar counts. Please consider making a donation to help us reach our goal and provide financial relief to as many ALS patients as we can.
