Help Bob and Lynn meet their urgent medical needs

Donation protected
They are just an average middle class couple devoted to their children and grandchildren. And they also happen to be our very close friends. Like most of us, they do not like to ask for help but right now they have no other choice.

Life is fragile, and good health is never assured. Surgery after surgery led Bob to severely restricted mobility. But Bob and Lynn kept fighting.

2023 heightened their dilemma with Bob facing multiple hospitalizations, many weeks in rehab, and even more surgeries. Unfortunately, late this year, sepsis led to a leg amputation.

Bob has recently gotten a prosthesis, and hopefully, combined with physical therapy, Bob will become more independent, and their situation will improve.

Meanwhile, Bob needs a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to help him transferring from one place to the next, attend multiple doctor’s appointments, etc. They have been fortunate enough to find a wonderful, caring person as their CNA.

Unfortunately, this kind of care is not covered by their current health plan, which is a good one. Between a government pension, social security, and Lynn’s income from working, they are not eligible for any government assistance.

There's hope possibly on the horizon. Bob and Lynn are working to crack the Social Security system to get their Medicare Part B in place. When they do, they'll get a Medicare advantage plan that will cover the CNA help they need.

Nothing moves quickly when you are dealing with bureaucracy. Lynn has called and called (and called) to no avail. Now they are asking their Senator for help. Hopefully his office can break the logjam.

All of us want to keep Bob and Lynn Margolies home together. After all, they have been married 48 years. But to stay home together, all these other pieces of the puzzle need to come together.

This is the all-too-real story of our very close friends. They simply need help to dig out. With their Medicare Advantage plan in place, their life should turn around, and they should be back on their feet. Thanks to the generosity of so many people we have already raised over $6000. By now their new insurance should have taken effect. But it hasn't. So, we're not there yet, and we need to raise at least $5000 to get them through this current situation.

Please give generously. Our friends need help, and it will take all of us to get them going again. We will all be so grateful.
