Donate to Alex Ortiz's Life-Saving Lung Transplant

My name is Alex Ortiz. I’ve been diagnosed with sarcoidosis and have been battling for 13 years. The last five years have been hard, but the beginning of 2025 has kicked my ass. Starting off with a virus in March that turned into pneumonia has pretty much finished off these lungs. The only solution for me is a lung transplant.

Praise the Lord, hallelujah! Right now, I got the green light. I should be listed by Tuesday and pending transplant whenever Heavenly Father decides to. This is going to be an extremely long journey. I will be intubated for about a week post-transplant with a six-month recovery after discharge from the hospital. The double lung transplant requires two clamshell incisions underneath the breast. You have to be placed on bypass while they are removing the bad lungs and inserting the new ones.

Super, super duper tough process. The first year of survival is also super duper important, and it’s all in the Lord’s hands.
